Laura Shearer Cotler

Laura Shearer Cotler received her training from Polestar Pilates Education, a group of highly-trained individuals certified in the Pilates Method who have been hand-selected based on their excellence in Pilates Education. Laura is also trained in the STOTT Method. She is a Certified Pilates Instructor, and the owner of the Pilates Studio of Davis.

Laura continues to seek additional education in order to learn more about the body and fitness, and to add to her Pilates exercise repertoire, both for her clients and herself. Additional certifications include:

  • Powerhouse Pilates
  • Aerobics & Fitness Association of America

She has trained extensively with Ron Fletcher, who received his training directly from Joseph and Clara Pilates; Brent Anderson, Physical Therapist; Sheri Betz, Physical Therapist; and Elizabeth Larkham Pilates & Beyond. She is also trained in the STOTT Pilates Method (www.stottpilates.com).

Laura and her husband Steve live in Davis with their four children, ages two through 18. Also health- and fitness-oriented, “Coach Steve” is the owner of Goalgetters Indoor Soccer in Davis, a soccer and fitness program for children.

Pam Haynes

STOTT trained in mat and reformer, Pam Haynes discovered Pilates in 2002 when she was looking for an exercise discipline that would offer both strength and an enhanced flexibility program. Pam spent many years as a gymnast, and has always made fitness a part of her daily routine. Pam lives in Woodland with her husband Rick, who is an executive in the nutrition industry, and her two teenage sons (who are getting ready to off to college!).

Dana

Dana Uhlmann

STOTT certified Pilates instructor Dana Uhlmann has studied dance and mind-body work for more than 25 years. She has also studied naturopathy, has had formal music and vocal training, and has her M.A. in philosophy. Originally from Germany, Dana now lives in Davis with her husband and lovely pre-teen daughter.

Michelle

Michelle Wright

Michelle Wright is a fully trained STOTT instructor. A dancer for over 15 years, she believes that Pilates is the ideal discipline to condition your body holistically and prepare for the physical challenges of everyday work, life, and play. Michelle is inspired to teach Pilates because "the essential mind-body connection of this dynamic exercise increases one's body awareness, mental focus, and muscle movement required to overcome physical challenges, improve posture, excel athletically, and even heal." Outside of Pilates, Michelle pursues her other passions: dancing and promoting Argentine tango, art, and natural health & healing. She looks forward to sharing this great exercise with others!
